Wheelie Bin Update
Lib Dem councillors recently called for a review of the household waste collection. They called for a more flexible system of bin and recycling collections including weekly collection of the black bins in those areas of need. Wheatley Ward Labour Councillors voted against this common sense request. As reported in The Free Press 28th Feb 2008 "It is not what is being done, it is how it is been done, that is the problem." Karl and Stephen will continue to press for such improvements in household collections and recycling.
Alley Gates needed
Liberal Democrat councillors in a recent council meeting called for installing alley gates into rear alley ways to reduce crime, littering and anti-social behaviour. This will improve areas of Wheatley. The proposed schemes would use money raised from the sale of council assets. Labour councillors with the support of the Conservatives showed once again that that they do not care about local residents problems. Karl does care and will continue to work all year round with his colleague Stephen to improve Wheatley Ward.
